Early Childhood Mental Health

Research tells us adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) can have an effect on brain development, and subsequently, how children process strong emotions. In the early learning setting, these effects can present themselves as behavior issues, which in turn, disrupt the entire classroom. Our team of early childhood mental health professionals work with children, parents and early educators to mitigate the effect of ACEs.

Specialties and Therapies

Eye Movement Desensitization
and Reprocessing

TFC clinicians have found EMDR extremely successful in helping people who suffer from trauma, anxiety, disturbing memories, post traumatic stress disorder and many other problems. EMDR treatment helps patients process their trauma, moving the experience from a place of isolation to the positive coping mechanisms in the brain.

Play Therapy

TFC therapist utilize play therapy to meet and respond to the mental health needs of young children. Play therapy is acknowledged by experts as an effective and developmentally appropriate intervention in treating children. Play Therapy allows therapists to speak to children in a language they understand — play.
